Remaining in a “bad” or negative mood feels good sometimes. What is it about giving in to the ill feelings that calms our soul? At the same time, we know this isn’t healthy, so why not be happy on purpose and make that our new norm? I challenge you today and for the following days, to be happy on purpose. Start with the activity below and see where it takes you.
Activity:
Think about and write out at three to five activities that put you in a good mood. Make time to do one or more of these activities every day this week. Journal how you feel before the activity and then afterwards. Continue to do this for one week and at the end of the week, review your emotional state at the beginning of your week compared to the end of your week. I’ve created a Daily Mood Journal to help you complete this activity.
